EYELID LIFT

As people age, the eyelids can stretch, muscles weaken and fat accumulates around the eyes, causing "bags" above and below, producing unnatural bulges and resulting in a tired look.

To correct these problems, a narrow section of skin from the upper lids and lower eyelids is removed, carefully hidden within the natural creases of the eyelid. Small pockets of fat that can give rise to the bulges are exposed and partially removed during eyelid lift surgery. Any excess skin and muscle is removed at the same time. The surgeon closes the eyelid skin edges with very fine sutures that are removed in a few days, leaving a nearly invisible scar.

In trans-conjunctival blepharoplasty, a tiny incision is made inside the lower eyelid and fat is removed with tiny forceps. The incision is closed with dissolving sutures, leaving no visible external scars.

The improvement from eyelid lift surgery is evident immediately. The upper eyelids no longer droop and the skin under the eyelids is smooth and firm. The result is a rested, awake and refreshed appearance.
